Online Marketing Events & Conferences 2012

24 Jan

2012 has started quickly, and we are already almost into February. If you are planning to do something new or innovative to impress your boss you need get ahead of the market, and quick. I’ve been looking at the online marketing events and conferences for 2012 that I want to attend this year so; I thought a quick post about it would help everyone else. My focus is online marketing with a leaning to SEO. Here are my top picks in date order:

SES London

20/24 Feb 2012 – QE II Conference Centre, London
SES London is a three day event and is known as one of the leading search marketing conferences in Europe. They have some of SEO’s greatest minds discussing SEO, PPC, Social media and Mobile. This year they have a keynote lined up with Google’s Avinash Kaushik on Tuesday 21st February, it’s titled ‘Business Optimisation in a Digital Age’ I think it could be one to attend. The rest of the line up looks first class, but the rates mean that the amateur SEO will be discouraged from attending unless they have deep pockets!

Speakers Include: Richard Baxter of SEO Gadget | Will Critchlow from Distilled

Technology for Marketing (TFM&A)

28/29 February 2012 – Earls Court
It’s been around for ages and always has a pretty good line up of keynote speakers; I’m waiting to see who else is announced. Not only do they have main presentation rooms that you can listen to the latest news and views you can also swing by some of the smaller presentations to pick up some gems to implement. TFM&A also includes Online Advertising and Affiliate show, Direct Marketing Expo and Publishing Expo for those with a wide range of interests.

Internet World

24/26 April 2012 – Earls Court
I always really enjoy Internet World, as you can tell from ‘Internet’ in the title it’s been around for a while! They now split it into six key areas: digital marketing world, ecommerce world, social media world, content management world, cloud & hosting world and mobile world. Four out of six cover what I’m looking for and the keynote list is well worth checking out.

SMX Search Marketing Expo

15/16 May 2012 – Great hall, Chelsea Football Club
Search Marketing Expo or SMX Advanced London is designed exclusively for experienced internet marketers. Their Q&A sessions are often fast paced, frequently controversial but always informative. Again, it’s not cheap, so get in early and get your organisation to sponsor you. Register before 30 March to qualify for early bird rates. Head line speakers this year include: Search Engine Land’s Danny Sullivan and Google’s Amit Singhal.

Search, Analytics and Social Media

17/18 May 2012 – Manchester
It’s new to me, I know nothing about it – but I’m interested. Looking at the schedule, they’ve got a lot of work to do. I’m interested to see how this pans out.

Online Marketing Show

27/29 June 2012 – Olympia
It’s a two-day industry focused event that, according to the website, bring together forward-thinking online marketers (that’s you) to help them make sense of the ever-changing digital landscape and leverage the endless opportunities for online marketing to improve campaign performance. It’s a great event and well worth attending. Check out the Online Marketing Show here – http://www.onlinemarketingshow.co.uk

ad:tech

19/20 September 2012 – National Hall, Olympia
I’ve not attended ad:tech in the past, but it’s one that I’d like to check out. The timetable has yet to be updated, but I’m sure it will be a good event to pick up any new trends that emerge over the summer and get announced in the autumn.

Online marketing events are always a great forum to pick up the latest digital trends, learn best practice and share challenges in the search for a potential digital solution. If you think I’ve missed an event or conference that you love, let me know.
